Attractive shape has made SMR 58, developed by the University of Wisconsin, the standard home garden pickle for many years. Resistant to scab and mosaic. Spines are black, 6½” (16.25 cm) long and 2½” (6.25 cm) in diameter. Skin color is medium green. Sow in groups (hills) of 6-8 seeds, 4’-6’ (120-180 cm) apart. Thin to 3 plants per group.
