Plants are stocky and sturdy, vigorous and prolific. Fruit 4″ (10 cm) long by 3½” (8.75 cm) in diameter. Smooth, thick walled and dark green, turning dark red as ripening progresses. Culture: Best started indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting date. Keep covered until seedlings appear, uncover and move to sunny window. Move to garden when soil is thoroughly warmed. Harvest: Cut stems with knife when green leaves are sufficiently size, or allow to turn red at maturity. Preserving: Freeze or can. Nutrition: Naturally low in calories, very high in vitamin C.
