You want hearty, glossy spinach that can handle both spring chills and summer heat. Bloomsdale Spinach grows fast, yields heavily, and keeps producing even through tough conditions.
Planting guide: Planting depth: 3/4″ or 18mm. Seed spacing: 1″ or 2.5cm. Spacing between rows: 12″ or 30cm. Spacing after thinning: 4″ or 10cm. Days to maturity: 48
This quick-growing, heavy-yielding, hardy spinach matures in about 48 days. Its longstanding ability before forming seed stalks makes it better for late spring or summer crops. The leaves are crumbled, very thick, very glossy green, tender and highly blight resistant. Fine quality, very cold hardy. Sow in spring after all danger of frost has past. Does best in sandy soil. Once established, plants are drought tolerant but will produce a better crop if watered during dry weather. The tips of the shoots can be pinched out and used when about 3″ long.
